Ruddington Cricket Club

First game of the season.....first loss of the season. On a very slow and damp wicket, batting was not easy and a par score of no more than 140 was expected. Ruddington won the toss and chose to bowl and things initially went well. Shaz and Ariz took two early wickets but Rolls Royce fought back and each of their batsmen contributed. Asif was the pick of the bowlers taking a respectable 4 for 30 off 9.5 overs. Rolls Royce finished their innings with an impressive score of 171.

Ruddington's reply was inept to say the least. Wickets fell at regular intervals and the pitch was playing up. Good efforts from Saj (20), Willis (38) and Shaz (19 no) were the only highlights. With Ruddington only playing for batting points, the game inevitably ended up in a sound defeat and everyone went home for tea. I had a curry.
